August *should be*.............

August *should be* the time, to savour all the Summer things, which will be disappearing, in a couple of months more.   Being able to be out of doors, without coats and scarves and mittens.  Splashing around in water, which one can't do, in winter time.   Etc.
.
Enjoying the night sky....    Watching for meteors, in the August meteor showers...
.
Spending time outside...    And being able to appreciate, our being a tiny bit, in this vast, vast Universe.  Quiet contemplation, with the soft background music, of summertime insects.
.
Watching a summer moon rise, over water, if we are very, very lucky.
.
But with this very hot/humid summer we have been having......
.
Will we soon be succumbing to wishes, for Autumn to hurry up and appear?
.
I usually do not like to hurry seasons or time, along.  I choose to live in the present.
.
But I really expect to see Blog Land, begin to wish for Fall...   Wish for the calmer days and crisper nights...   And the clear blue skies, with puffy white clouds....  And the changing colors of leaves and foliage....   Of Autumn.
.
Do you feel this wish, coming on, too...?
.
.

Yes, I do, too. But I'm trying very, very hard to stay in the moment and enjoy this summer season (even with the heat, humidity and bugs!) . . . trying to recapture that "summer" feeling I had as a child with none of the adult responsibilities I have now. (Feels good for a bit, but I'm still glad I'm at this age rather than having to go through all that uncomfortable "growing up" and becoming satisfied and secure as I am now.)

I enjoyed seeing all the images you'd used for your post.

My two most favourite seasons are Spring and Autumn …
This years summer has been hot, hot, hot!
I will be pleased when it cools down a little.
I do my best to enjoy every day …

All the best Jan

love the pictures.
autumn is showing signs of arrival here in n.e. ohio. robins flocking together and leaving south ward.
listening to insect night music now and cricket calls sound like those of autumn.

Funny that. I have been anxious for Autumn to get here. It has been an odd summer in Paradise for numerous reasons and I am ready to have cool weather, some color change, a bit of hibernation and restorative sleep. Under quilts aplenty and between flannel sheets. I have been delighted to find acorns on the ground as we had none last year. Sweet post.

I really love summer so I'm not wishing it away. We've had beautiful weather this year, the best summer for many years, but the weather is set to change from tomorrow onwards. I'm sure we'll all be wishing the sunshine back when we've had a few days of rain.

Not yet, right now - with all the heat - autumn seems a long way off. I guess it will hit me pretty soon, though. I love autumn, actually I love all the seasons.

I do enjoy looking at your pictures.

Awesome photos. And yes, some seasons are better than others but depends on our moods!
